This methodology is based on 13 weighted criteria: FTAs (currents free trade association), share of the preselected destination in world imports, trend of the preselected destination in world imports, “volume matching” (size of economies), trend of trade balance between countries, geographical proximity, cultural proximity, impact of COVID-19, degree of opening of commercial borders with respect to COVID-19, logistical performance index, international freight costs from origin to destination, efficiency of customs clearance, import tariff of the tariff position under study, average time to import a product, in others.

Through in-depth interviews with “target” buyers, we identified relevant behaviors and preferences in the import process,  including: country / sector brand perception, import experience from the country of origin, protocols to incorporate a new international suppliers, shipping solution required, payments and financing solution required, new products they are looking to import, in others.
